Hazardous Waste: Collection, Processing, & Disposal

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) collects hazardous materials in several categories for disposal, treatment or recycling for all University of Oregon departments.

Hazardous Waste Pick-up Request

• Submit your service request through the online system.
• Login to your workgroup's on-line interface.  You will then be able to submit requests and view the queue of existing requests. 
• Please review a short tutorial on waste pick-up submittals.
• If your workgroup is not set up in the on-line interface, please continue to place your pick-up request by calling Environmental Health and Safety at 541-346-3192. 
• You will be asked to provide:  your name, laboratory/workgroup name, room location, phone number, number and type of containers. 
• Allow two business days for collection.

UO Hazardous Materials Guide

• This guide outlines procedures established for the safe and proper management of hazardous materials located at the University of Oregon. These procedures are intended to promote compliance with federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to hazardous materials. In addition, this guide provides instructions for handling materials which may not be considered hazardous, but have special processing or waste management requirements
